─How has living in Japan been?(日本で、どんな生活体験をしていますか?)
Living in Japan for my first month has gone pretty smoothly I'd say, although many places are much more busy and crowded than I am used to. People have been patient with me as I slowly learn this new language and culture.
─Which places have you visited in Japan, and which was your favorite?(日本の中でどこに行きましたか、またどの場所が一番好きですか?)
I haven't traveled inJapan very much yet, only around Shizuoka prefecture and to Izu, but I liked Izu very much. I enjoyed the stunning seaside and rural atmosphere. I look forward to exploring the Japanese Alps over Golden Week!
─What are some memorable moments in Japan?(日本で、どんなことが心に残っていますか?)
My first cup of Shizuoka tea, the craziness and confusion of Tokyo station, talking vending machines, my first view of Mt. Fuji, and driving on the other side of the road!
─What is your personal message to everyone?(皆様へのメッセージ)
Whatever it is you are doing, whether it is learning a new language or anything else, be patient with it and don't be afraid to make mistakes. I think I will learn a lot from living in Japan, and I hope my students can learn a bit from me as well. Most importantly, I just want everyone to have fun, be happy, and take care of the earth.
